The BlueDiamond mobile app uses Bluetooth technology to access facilities with a mobile phone. Readers within range appear on the phone, with the closest reader listed at the bottom of the screen. When a reader is selected, and the credential is sent, the reader identifies if the credential should be granted access. If access is granted, the door unlocks. Unlocking the door is not based on sending the credential; it is based on the user access level.
The BlueDiamond mobile app preserves credentials on the phone for the reader when accessing facilities.
Authorization Code
When credentials are issued, an email is sent with instructions for obtaining the BlueDiamond mobile app and the required authorization code. The authorization code is a one-time code that identifies and authorizes the mobile device. Do not delete this email.

Hints and Tips
- Ensure Bluetooth and the Location Services feature are enabled on the phone.
- The mobile data connection and foreground services must be running.
- Background services (a setting in the BlueDiamond mobile app) must be enabled to use the Phone as a Badge and Pathways features.
- The Phone as a Badge feature must be registered when the phone is less than 1 meter (3.2 feet) distance from the mobile reader.
- If the distance between mobile readers is less than 2 meters (6.5 feet) apart, credentials may be sent to the incorrect reader. Adjust the sensitivity using the Preferences feature. registered in too close of a distance from the reader. If the reader is registered too closely, re-register the Phone as a Badge allowing for more distance from the reader. Ensure you have a mobile connection, sync the BlueDiamond mobile app.
- The BlueDiamond mobile app uses a "Shake to Open" method for turnstile readers that are defined with "xx" before and after the friendly name of the turnstile reader (for example xx<ReaderName>xx.)
- If iBeacon is used, an administrator or technician must commission readers with iBeacon UUID and the measured power output. Complete this process first and then assign using the BlueDiamond Toolkit with version 2.1.2.287 and the latest version of Bluetooth broker firmware. To identify your firmware version, note the time it takes to send a mobile credential; 3-4 seconds is DK2.0, if around 1 second then it is the new Firmware, DK2.5.
