Instances of the legacy version of the Elements OnGuard Connector (shown as “OnGuard Connector v1” in the Marketplace) should be migrated to the latest version (shown as “OnGuard Connector” in the Marketplace).

Prerequisites

  • The new Elements OnGuard Connector must be enabled by your VAR.

  • Back up the database before proceeding. By default, the Connector will utilize your OnGuard database.

  • Ensure that you have credentials for OpenAccess and the database.

Migrate to the Latest Version

  1. Download the latest version of the Elements OnGuard Connector.

  2. Stop the LS Elements Connector service.

  3. Extract the Elements OnGuard Connector .zip file.

  4. Run Setup.exe as an administrator.

  5. When prompted during the upgrade, enter your OpenAccess and database credentials.

  6. After the upgrade, the LS Elements Connector service will automatically restart.
After installing the latest version, the Elements Connector module is available in the LenelS2 Console again. However, previous accounts will be disconnected.

  7. In Elements, generate a new API key and use it to reestablish the connection.
The rule in the previous version of the Connector will be converted into a rule in the new version. Rename or update the rule as needed.

 Elements Connectivity

  • The account in the Connector is disconnected by default so that you may review the converted rule before enabling it.

  • Enter the API key to enable communication for the Connector. Disable cardholder syncing and verify that the rules are configured as expected. Then re-enable the cardholder sync once the rules have been verified.

  • Without an API key configured, data from Elements will not be displayed. For example, Elements field names for field mappings or Elements group names for assignment within rules will appear without any values defined.
