The default or scheduled reader mode can be overridden.

View lock details or, from the device tree, select on the lock.
Select Set an Override.
On the Override Reader Mode screen, select the Override Mode.
Select the Override Behavior:
- Until manually released - The selected reader mode applies until a user releases the reader from the override or an action that is configured by a controller rule triggers the change.
- For a limited time - The selected reader mode applies for a specified time. Specify the duration by selecting it from the Duration drop-down or entering a custom Release Date and Release Time. The maximum duration is 7 days.
Select Apply. When the reader mode has been overridden, the reader status will indicate "Reader mode overridden" in the device tree, reader details screen, and dashboard.
To manually change the reader mode from the override to its normal operating mode, select Release Override.
