General Settings

  1. The resolution should be set to 1080p. Higher resolutions are supported, but the network performance may affect the video quality.
  2. The GOP/GOV setting should be set to the same value as the frame rate.
  3. Compression settings must be set to H.264.
  4. B frames are not supported and must be turned off.
  5. Turn off any compression algorithms such as zip stream.
  6. Set the encoding profile to Basic.
  7. Set the maximum bandwidth to 3072 or lower.

AXIS Cameras

  1. Create an ONVIF username and password.
  2. Create an ONVIF profile.
  3. Enable the PS option.
    1. Navigate to Setup > System Options > Advanced > Plain Config > Image group > I0 sub group > Image I0 MPEG H264.
    2. Select the PS enabled option.
  4. Turn off Replay attack protection.
    1. Navigate to Setup > System Options > Advanced > Plain Config > Webservice.
    2. Set Enable replay attack protection to off.
  5. Set zip stream to off.
  6. Set the encoding profile to Basic.

Bosch

  1. Change GOP setting from Auto to match the frame rate.
    1. Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Encoder Profile > Expert settings > I-frame distance.
    2. Enter the same number as the frame rate.
  2. Some models default to using B frames. This needs to be changed.
    1. Navigate to Configuration > Camera > Encoder Profile > Expert settings > GOP structure.
    2. Change the GOP structure to IP.

Hanwha Techwin

The default Video Profile settings must be changed.

High Quality Stream

  1. Connect to the web page of the camera.
  2. Navigate to Basic > Video Profile.
  3. Select the first profile, MJPEG. This will become the high-quality stream in Elements.
  4. Change the Codec to H.264.

  5. Uncheck all Profile type options.
  6. Set Resolution to 1920 x 1080.

  7. Set Frame rate to 15 fps.
  8. Set Target bitrate to 2560 kbps.
  9. Set Bitrate control to CBR.
  10. Set GOV length to 15, the same as the frame rate.
  11. Set Profile to Main.
  12. Select Apply.

Low Quality Stream

Repeat the above procedure for the profile named H.264. This will become the low-quality stream in Elements.

  1. Under Basic > Video Profile, select the second codec, named H.264.
  2. Change the Codec to H.264.
  3. Uncheck all Profile type options.
  4. Set the Resolution to 640 x 480.
  5. Set Frame rate to 15 fps.
  6. Set Target bitrate to 512 kbps.
  7. Set Bitrate control to CBR.
  8. Set GOV length to 15, the same as the frame rate.
  9. Set Profile to Main.
  10. Select Apply to save the settings.
