Although Data Security is set to "TLS Required" on the controller's web configuration page, the controller is not configured to use TLS encryption in Elements.

To resolve: The TLS encryption configuration needs to be changed:

  1. From the device tree, select Actions menu on the access controller, and then choose Configure.
  2. Enable toggle switch (on) Use TLS Encryption. 
  3. Save the change.
