Each reader has one or more auxiliary inputs that can be connected and can monitor a set of dry (non-powered) contacts. When a closure of the contacts is detected, the reader generates an auxiliary alarm.

When an access controller is added, slots are automatically included for configuring the onboard auxiliary inputs depending on the number of auxiliary inputs supported by the controller. For example, four (4) input slots are available for the the LNL-X2220 (LNL-2220). Similarly, adding a reader interface automatically includes slots for the number of supported downstream inputs.

LNL-2210 onboard readers and RS-485 Command Keypad readers do not support auxiliary inputs.

To configure an auxiliary input, complete the following steps:

  1. From the sidebar, select Devices.
  2. Above the devices list, select hide or show options and then Show available slots to show the available input slots.
  3. Under the controller or reader interface, select the Add Input slot to open its configuration screen.
  4. Name: Enter a unique, descriptive name for the input.
  5. Mask on Schedule: Select a schedule (if any) during which events will not be reported from this input. Choices include all currently defined schedules.
  6. Always Mask Input: Select toggle switch (off) to enable toggle switch (on). Specifies events originating at this input will never be reported. When Always Mask Input is enabled, Mask on Schedule will not be available because the input will be masked during all schedules.
  7. Supervision: Select a supervision and normally open / closed option.
  8. Debounce: Select the debounce level. This is the amount of time the input must change state in order for that change to be considered a logical change of state. There are six levels of debounce with the first being the lowest (shortest) and the last being the highest (longest). It is up to the hardware interface to map these values to hardware specific values, as well as to map the default option to a hardware specific value.
  9. Select Save to save the configuration. If you exit this screen after entering the input information without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your change.
