Generate audit logs to track activity in the security system.
Generated audit logs are intended for offline archives. The audit logs are not backed up in the system so disaster recovery retention policies do not apply to them. To retain a record of the audit logs, save them locally.
- From the sidebar, select Configuration, then Audit Logs.
- Select Create an Audit Log.
- On the Create an Audit Log screen:
- Select the Start Date of the system activity to be included in the audit log. (Events are retained for 90 days.) To use the calendar, select
. - Select the End Date of the system activity.
Select Create to generate the audit log. During generation, the audit log is listed as "Pending" in the Audit Logs list.

- When the audit log is available, select Download
on the audit log to download it.
When an audit log is created with the current date as the End Date, the data may be incomplete because the latest events are not yet fully processed in the system. If this is the case, wait five to ten minutes and create the audit log again. The latest activity should then be included.
