The Reader Behaviors option allows you to configure the LED idle states for all LNL-series readers across all sites. Initially, the default reader settings will be used (Red, Blink and Silence Readers is disabled).

LED behavior may vary depending on the reader manufacturer and/or reader firmware version.

To configure reader behaviors settings, perform the following steps:

  1. From the Reader Behaviors option in System Options, select Customize.
  2. On/Off pattern when idle: Choose Blink or Solid.
  3. LED color when idle: For OSDP readers, choose Off, Red, Green, Amber, Blue, Magenta, Cyan, or White. For BlueDiamond readers, these colors will only work for reader firmware version 5.0.42 and above. Note: When the reader is locked, the LED stays Red; when the reader is unlocked, the LED stays Green. This is not configurable.

  4. Silence Readers: When enabled, the readers will not beep including when they read a credential or become unlocked. However, the reader-preferred silent operation may emit sounds for certain events (such as entering PIN codes).

  5. Select Apply to save the settings. If you exit this screen after the changes are made without applying, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.

When the reader behavior settings are modified from System Options, all LNL-series controllers will be reloaded across all gateways.
