LenelS2 is pleased to announce the release of the following features and improvements for Elements.

The following changes are now available in your Elements System.

  • Custom Card Formats: Along with Elements' standard format templates, creating custom card formats and defining card format priority order are now available.
  • Event Filtering: Filter by a variety of attributes to show only the events you want to see.

Improvements

  • Device Improvements
    • Fixed issues that produced duplicate "connection established" events
    • Added events for detection of invalid PIN entry
    • Devices that do not support secure channel no longer allow the secure channel attribute to be configured
    • More actions can be taken directly from the device list
    • Gateway firmware update available in the related event details
  • UX Improvements
    • Device hierarchy and connection statuses are now easier to read
    • Fixed a defect where photos captured by iOS devices were presented in the wrong orientation
    • iPad "take photo" option has been fixed
    • Time/date inputs now display correctly on iPads
  • Accessibility

    • Improved page title descriptions based on URL routes

  • Security Improvements
    • Customer portal and management portal now implement Subresource Integrity (SRI) to enable browsers to verify that resources they fetch are delivered without unexpected manipulation

    • Improved the efficiency and speed of generating large audit reports

New Features

  • PIN Support: Configure readers to use a keypad and easily assign and email PINs to people

    PIN usage for Existing Customer Accounts

    Gateways must be updated to use the latest available firmware.

    Existing customer accounts must set a PIN length (found in the Configuration area of the main menu) for this feature to work correctly.

Improvements

  • Device Improvements

    • Controllers now reliably reload when there are larger cardholder populations in the system

    • Controller sync status now reliably creates a corresponding event in the activity feed
    • Unknown Device events now display associated event data

  • Mobile Credential Improvements

    • Provisioned reader names now appear in the BlueDiamond toolkit application

    • Improved BlueDiamond installation documentation is now available

  • Accessibility

    • Web pages now have appropriate page titling based on URL navigation, complying with WCAG 2.0 Guideline 2.4.2

    • Elements now offers an option to use the OpenDyslexic typeface

    • Fixed a defect where badge offsets could not be edited

    • Better mobile scroll support on dashboard page
    • Inactivity timeouts no longer cause infinite loop refreshes
    • People assignment to spaces is now more clearly represented in the UI

Elements Web Addresses Have Changed

The management portal for resellers now resides at https://manage.elementssecure.com

The customer portal for end users now resides at https://portal.elementssecure.com

Previous Elements sites will redirect to these new URLs.

  • People Search
    • Find people more easily using a search in the people list as well as when assigning people to spaces
  • OSDP Support
    • Readers can now be configured to use OSDP
  • TLS Encryption to Controllers
    • Controllers can be configured to use TLS encryption, which secures communication from the gateway to the controller
  • BlueDiamond Installer Credentials
    • Technicians can now manage BlueDiamond Toolkit credentials directly from the reseller portal
    • For controllers configured prior to March 6, 2020, a controller reload is required to use the BlueDiamond Mobile credential card format
  • Easy Gateway Replacement
    • Easily swap or deallocate a gateway using actions found in the gateway actions menu

  • Crossing Midnight Support
    • Schedules are now able to span across midnight, making it easy to schedule reader modes across 2 days
    • A new interactive graphic better explains holiday behavior

  • Gateway Replacement
    • In cases where a gateway needs to be swapped for another one, the system retains essential information so nothing is lost in the transition
    • A gateway can now be "deallocated" so it is available for use in other systems (ideal for testing or moving around gateway devices)

    • The privacy policy for Elements was updated
    • When logging into the portal, users are prompted to accept the latest terms

    • Reader address now prompts the number keyboard on mobile devices

    • Improved dashboard device counts for new or empty systems

    • Improved diagnostic logs to include gateway networking data for troubleshooting

    • Improved keyboard support for navigating pages including tabbing between elements, using dropdowns and menus, and interacting with forms
    • Improved screen reader support for input fields and notifications
    • Consistent form behavior for adding and editing people, devices, card formats, and more

  • Defects
    • Login service was unavailable
    • Reader dropdown was cut off by other elements on the screen
    • Door issues weren't reported reliably on the Devices page for "Door Forced" and other door status events
    • 500 errors when a VAR user switched between customer accounts when managing devices

  • Activity Feed Export: Event activity from Elements can now be exported as a CSV file

    • Configuration changes during a controller reload action are more reliably executed when reload completes
    • Event activity referencing a deleted device can now be viewed without a 500 error

    • Fixed a defect where events were displayed in reverse order
