A DNS name may be enabled for a gateway.

The use of a DNS name is designed to be optionally used on Network Node or MicroNode Plus controllers and should be enabled only if there is no other way of establishing a stable connection to gateway.

Node controllers will experience a brief downtime if the gateway IP changes and needs to be resolved via the DNS name.

  1. On the gateway details screen, select Gateway actions menu and then choose Advanced Networking.
  2. Select Enable DNS Name. The DNS name will be automatically generated for the gateway. It may be copied to the clipboard and pasted when configuring the system.
  3. Select Save to save your changes. If you exit this screen after changes are made without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.

The DNS name may now be used when referring to this gateway.
