To begin the configuration of devices, configure a gateway.

  1. From the sidebar, select Devices.
  2. Select Add, and then Gateway to add a gateway.
  3. On the new gateway screen, enter a descriptive Name (this field is required).
  4. Enter the System ID of the gateway. The System ID must be unique.
  5. Select Save to save your changes. If you exit this screen after changes are made without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.

After being added, the gateways are displayed in the device tree, providing the gateway's status and any warnings or issues for it. From the actions menu, view gateway details, deallocate or replace the gateway, enable diagnostic logging, synchronize, or delete the gateway. Selecting the expand icon next to the gateway displays the devices list with devices configured for that gateway. Selecting the gateway displays its details screen.

Newly added devices are considered part of the Global (unassigned) site. If a site filter is currently active, the new device might not be visible. Change the filter to view it or assign the device to a site.
