Video streaming and video downloads use a metered connection and may affect the system operating costs. Contact your VAR for more information.

The cloud video data is limited to 1 GB of free data monthly for each camera configured in the system. If additional data is required, the video data limit can be upgraded on the Marketplace page.

Video can be exported as an MPEG-4 (MP4) file for downloading.

The following procedures can only be performed by roles with permission to export video. See Roles.

  1. Choose the camera and view the video to be exported.
  2. On the Camera details screen or while viewing the video in full screen, select Export video clip icon Export Video.
  3. On the Export Video screen, choose a time range from the drop-down for the video, or enter a custom time range. The maximum duration is one hour.
  4. Select Export.

After video is exported, the file is available for download on the Video Clips page. The system stores exported video clips for 15 days.

Exported video files are intended for offline archives. Exported video is not backed up in the system so disaster recovery retention policies do not apply to them. To retain a record of the files, save them locally.

Training video: Export Video

Video Clips

Exported video files appear on the Video Clips page with details like the start time, end time, duration, expiration date, file size, and status of the export indicated next them.

  • When a video clip becomes available, select download icon to download the file.
  • Select actions menu and then choose Delete to delete a video clip.

As the video usage approaches the limit (depending on the license option), usage warnings will appear on the dashboard and event feed. When the usage reaches 100%, video cloud streaming and downloads will no longer be allowed. Video service will resume at the beginning of the next billing cycle, or contact your VAR for a different license option to ensure uninterrupted service.

Share a Video Clip

Video clips may be shared by generating a unique URL to be used as a public link. Sharing a public link allows anyone to download and view a video clip without signing in.

  1. On the Video Clips page, select the video clip to be shared.
  2. On the video clip details screen, select Generate Public Link. After confirming, the public link can be copied and pasted to share externally.
    • The link expires when the video clip expires.
    • If the video clip is deleted, its public link would no longer be valid.
    • Generating a public link always creates a new unique URL. If there was a previously generated public link, it would no longer be valid.
  3. If the public link is no longer needed, select Remove Public Link. After confirming the removal of the public link, the video clip will no longer be available externally.

When someone receives a shared public link and goes to the URL, they will be presented with the option to download the video clip and view it locally.
