Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security feature that enhances protection during sign-in to the Elements system. By default, MFA is optional. When it is enabled, users are required to set up and use MFA to sign in to their accounts.

Using an authenticator app is the primary method for MFA. Administrators may allow email verification as an option. When this option is enabled, users may choose email verification as their MFA method. They may also use email as a backup method if they are unable to access their authenticator app.

MFA is supported for users signing in to the system directly with their email address. SSO users may use MFA through their own provider.

Available MFA methods are based on your organization’s settings. If you belong to multiple organizations, available methods are determined by all applicable MFA requirements. Contact your administrator if an expected option is unavailable.
