Occasionally, it is necessary to synchronize the configuration data on a controller. For example, a replacement controller may have been installed or a power outage may have caused the data to not be synchronized. Synchronizing the data ensures that the most current information is on the controller.

  1. View the access controller details.
  2. Select actions menu and then choose Synchronize.
  3. A message appears requesting confirmation to synchronize the data. Select Synchronize to continue, or Cancel to exit from the screen.
  4. When the synchronization process begins, a "Controller Synchronizing" event is generated and displayed on the Events page. When the synchronizing process is complete, a "Controller Synchronized" event is generated and displayed on the Events page. To view more details, select the event.
If "Controller Synchronization Error" is displayed, then synchronization has not completed because an error occurred while trying to synchronize the data on the controller.

During synchronization, the controller will be unavailable and the devices associated with the controller will behave in their offline mode. Events occurring during this time continue to be reported on the Events page. Depending on the timing, these other events may appear between the "Controller Synchronizing" and "Controller Synchronized" events.
