After the gateway or Elements video recorder (EVR) is configured, access controllers can be added.
From the sidebar, select Devices.
- Above the devices list, select the gateway or EVR to which the access controller will be added.
- Select Add, and then Controller.
- On the configuration screen, enter a descriptive Name for the controller.
- (Optional) From Gateway, assign the controller to a different gateway.
Choose the Device Type. This is the controller model number.
For the LNL-X2210, choose the device type that describes how the board will be configured. Choose either:
- "LNL-X2210 - Single Onboard + SIOs" - One (1) onboard reader on port 2 and up to eight (8) reader interfaces on port 1. Serial Input/Output (SIO) refers to devices that are downstream from the access controller.
- "LNL-X2210 - Dual Onboards" - Two (2) onboard readers, one on each port.
Enter the IP Address of the access controller.
Make sure the access controller is programmed with the same IP address.
Use TLS Encryption is enabled by default. This allows TLS encryption between the access controller and the gateway. Select to disable this option. See Secure communications.
Correspondingly, new controllers are shipped with "TLS Required". However, previously installed controllers may need to be set to "TLS Required" on the controller's configuration web page.
If the controller does not initially come online, make sure both settings are the same. If Use TLS Encryption is enabled, "TLS Required" must be selected on the controller's configuration web page.
- From Time Zone, choose the time zone for the controller's geographical location. Time zones are listed sequentially and are typically identified by region, then by the name of the largest city within the region.
Select Save to save your changes. If you exit this screen after changes are made without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.
