Add an Access Blade
After the Network Node is added, access blades can be configured for it.
- On the Network Node, select and then choose Add an Access Blade.
- On the Configuration screen, enter a descriptive Name for the access blade.
- Select the Slot at which the access blade is connected to the node. Note: The slot must not be in use by another device.
- Select Save to save your changes. If you exit this screen after changes are made without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.
When the access blade is added, two (2) reader placeholders and two (2) outputs are automatically added to it, ready to be configured.
Access Blade Actions
Select on a configured access blade to access these actions:
- View Details - Presents read-only access blade information and any recent access blade events. For more information about an access blade event, select the event to open its details screen.
- Configure - Select to modify the access blade.
- Delete - Select to remove the access blade configuration.
Deleting an output blade also deletes its associated outputs.
Configure Outputs
To configure an output for the access blade, complete the following steps:
- Under the access blade in the Devices list, select Add Output to open the output configuration screen.
- On the configuration screen, the first output will be position 1 on the blade and the second position 2.
- Enter a descriptive Name for the output.
Normally Energize Output: Enable this option to specify a normally energized output relay. By default, this setting is disabled for output relays that are not normally energized.
Both normally-open circuit devices and normally-closed circuit devices are supported. See Wire outputs for 3-pin wiring.
Refer to the output device manual to determine if the device is normally energized or normally not energized.- Activate on schedule: Select a schedule during which the output will be activated. Choices include Always, Never, and all currently defined schedules.
Select Save to save your changes. If you exit this screen after changes are made without saving, you will be prompted to save or discard your changes.
Output Actions
Select on a configured output to access these actions:
- View Details - Presents read-only output information and any recent output events. For more information about an output event, select the event to open its details screen.
- Configure - Select to modify the output.
- Delete - Select to remove the output configuration.
Outputs cannot be deleted if they are linked to a reader or input.
