If video is configured and being used in the system, users can customize their dashboard view to include live video streams.

  1. Use the video layout menu (next to the actions list) to choose how to view the video cameras.
    • Overview, no video Overview - The dashboard displays charts with information about the system. No video will be displayed.
    • Single video layout 1 - Video from the selected camera will be displayed in a single tile.
    • 2x2 video layout 2x2 - Video from the selected cameras will be displayed in four quadrants of equal size.
    • 1 large, 3 small video layout 1+3 - Video from the selected cameras will be displayed in one large tile and three small tiles below it.
    • 3x3 video layout 3x3 - Video from the selected cameras will be displayed in 9 equal-sized tiles on the screen.
    • 4x4 video layout 4x4 - Video from the selected cameras will be displayed in 16 equal-sized tiles on the screen.
  2. Select Choose a Camera in the video tile to open the Select Camera screen. If video is already being displayed in the tile, select the name or title bar to change it.
  3. Select a camera from the list, or choose None (no camera) to leave that particular tile blank.
Meraki cameras may not be added to the dashboard video view.
  4. Select Done.

By default, all video streams are set to low quality resolution. The streams may be changed to high quality resolution by selecting the quality from the drop-down of the video tile.

Configuring multiple high quality streams for the video layout may result in dropped frames or video stream failures. The streaming quality should be tested based on the network capacity to determine the optimal configuration.

To view more details or recorded video for one of the cameras on the dashboard, select View camera details icon (located in the corner of the video tile).
