Readers are initially configured with default reader modes or scheduled reader modes.

When the current reader mode is changed, the reader then operates in the new mode, and remains in that mode until a synchronization is performed or any changes are made to the reader configuration. When either of these actions occur, the reader returns to its default or scheduled reader mode.

Also, if a scheduled reader mode begins or ends after the reader mode is changed, the reader returns to its scheduled reader mode.

  1. View the reader details.
  2. From the reader details screen, choose the reader mode in the Current Reader Mode drop-down.

For readers configured with scheduled reader modes, messages will be displayed to indicate when a scheduled reader mode will change. When the reader mode has been changed, the reader status will indicate "Reader mode changed" in the device tree, reader details screen, and dashboard.
