When a reader is configured for Double Card Presentation, the reader will remain in the credential mode until authorized personnel arrive. Once a person with Double Card Presentation authority presents their badge twice to a reader, access is granted, and the reader mode changes to unlocked. The door remains unlocked until a person with Double Card Presentation authority presents their badge twice again. If Double Card Presentation is using a schedule, a person with Double card presentation authority will not be able to unlock the reader before the schedule starts or after the schedule ends but will be granted access.

  • The Double card presentation authorized option must be enabled for people via People Groups with access to readers configured for double card presentation.
  • When a door is unlocked, a double card presentation should return the reader to credential mode.
  • When a PIN is required during a schedule, people need to enter their PIN twice, after each credential is read. The system allows up to 15 seconds between the two reader/keypad entries.

Require PIN during schedule must be selected for keypad readers, and people that need access to the keypad reader must have a PIN issued to them.

  • If the Double card presentation schedule is set to "Always", and the reader is set to a schedule:
    • When people perform a double card presentation before the reader schedule starts, the door will remain unlocked until the reader schedule ends.
    • When people perform a double card presentation during the reader schedule, the door will remain unlocked until a double card presentation is performed again, even if the reader schedule ends.
